MEET THE COMMITTEE

Kristina DeMichele,  co-chair
Kristina earned her MA in Publishing and Writing from Emerson. She now works for America's Test Kitchen as an Email Marketing Content Coordinator, writing their email newsletters. She joined the committee in 2015 and has served as Co-Chair since the 2016 Book Show.

Rosie Gutmann, co-chair
Rosie is passionate about book design, and she works in production at Page Street Publishing in Salem. She recently graduated with her MA in Publishing and Writing from Emerson College. She joined the committee last year and is thrilled to be a Co-Chair for the 2017 Book Show.

Sarah Bell
Sarah has worked for Pearson for the last three and half years in print and media production. She first joined the BBB organization in 2011 and is really looking forward to seeing amazing, new work this year!

Stephen Cartisano
Stephen has worked in publishing for sixteen years; ten as a print and component buyer and six as a project manager for an educational developer. He is a former Book Show judge and has been on the committee since 2013.

Ari Choquette
Ari Choquette has been involved in various aspects of book making for four years and holds an MA in Publishing & Writing from Emerson College. This is her second year sitting on the committee.

Iris Febres
Iris’ tenure in the publishing industry revolves mostly around ebooks. She holds an MA in Writing & Publishing from Emerson and a BA (English) from Florida International University. She currently serves as President of Bookbuilders of Boston.

Margaret Rosewitz
Margaret is a native Bostonian and graduate of Emerson College's publishing and writing master's program. She lives in JP with her dog, Bacon, and works at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt as a production coordinator, living the dream of making beautiful books every day.

Tanya Gold
Tanya is an independent editor, writing coach and publishing project manager based in Cambridge, MA. It has been suggested that she owns too many dictionaries for her own good.

Katy Mastrocola
Katy loves reading stories, ranting about them, and making them. She recently earned her MA in Publishing and Writing from Emerson and is a production associate at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, where she works on children’s ebooks. This is Katy’s first year on the New England Book Show committee.

Olivia Woods
As a New England native, Olivia loves the written word as much as she loves the ocean. She received her master's in publishing, literature, and writing from Emerson College, and her bachelor's in English Language and Literature from Smith College. Her favorite book is The Chicago Manual of Style, 16th edition.

Liz Agresta
Liz is Manuscript Workflow Assistant at the MIT Press in Cambridge and holds a master's degree in Publishing from Emerson College. This is her first year on the New England Book Show committee. In her free time, she enjoys knitting, playing video games, and binge-watching The Great British Bake-Off.

Michele Brennan
Michele Brennan, Vice President of Business Development at Bridgeport National Bindery, is a Chamber of Commerce board member with a focus on youth development and educational programs. She founded the Future Authors Program, a writing program that supports the current English curriculum for junior high school students and has assisted in the publishing of over 900 student author's books. She sits on the board of directors for Bookbuilders Education Fund Foundation, Advisory for Greater Lowell Technical High School and is AIM's Ambassador to Senator Stan Rosenberg on policies and legislation as they relate to businesses in Western MA. She is a 2016 Dwiggin's Award Winner and served five years as Chairperson for the New England Book Show and a former board member of BBB. ​

Jack Foley
Jack has been in publishing just shy of 40 years starting at Houghton Mifflin, and for the past 20+ years at Neenah Paper. He was president of Bookbuilders of Boston and a recipient of the Dwiggins Award. Currently he is chairman of the Bookbuilders Scholarship Committee and Vice President of the BBB Education Fund Board.
